Israeli-American actor Mike Burstyn won an Israeli Academy Award for the title role in the musical drama HERSHELE. Hershele is an educated European immigrant who lives in a poor rural neighborhood in Israel. He has been classically trained as a musician, and in an effort to connect with the townspeople he gives music lessons to the local children. They rapidly develop into a talented orchestra, but living in a poor neighborhood, they are unable to draw the same attention as children's groups in other places. Now Hershele and his musician students must find a way to force the rest of the country to take notice. HERSHELE is an Israeli MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS, a film that dramatizes the power of music and the student-teacher relationship.

First time Belgian director Le Moine weaves a grotesque, allegorical tale around the diminutive Lucien Lhotte (Thual), a dwarf who writes fraudulent love letters for an unscrupulous law firm to use as false evidence in divorce cases. When he is called upon to draft some scurrilous prose for the firm's largest (in both senses of the word) client--the fading opera diva Countess Paola Bendoni (Ekberg)--he stages a daring seduction that lands him in the arms and bed of the ample singer. However, to Lucien's dismay, their love is fleeting. When the Countess takes back her philandering husband, Lucien descends into a downward spiral of rage, despair and depraved vengeance. But as his inner demons overtake him, a blossoming friendship with a naive young trapeze artist (Peyrelon) offers possible salvation.DVD Features:Region 1 EncodingKeep CaseTrailersWidescreen and Full Screen
